We provide this Website to facilitate the booking of repair appointments to PocketGeek ®Tech Repair Stores (the ‘Franchisees’).

This Privacy Notice applies only with respect to personal information collected when you use of the Website and does not reflect Our practices with respect to information gathered through other services, websites or other applications. Who We share your information with

  • Assurant group of entities. We may disclose your personal data with Our parent company, Assurant, Inc. and affiliates.

  • Franchisees. We disclose your personal data to Our PocketGeek® Tech Repair Stores Franchisees for the purpose described on this privacy notice (i.e., booking a repair appointment). Franchisees have a limited right to use certain Personal Data for their own purposes. They therefore qualify as independent data controllers for the following processing: manage and coordinate your appointment booked at their store, arrange the repair on your device as well as any invoicing and related operations for the provision of the service. Franchisees may also use your personal data for compliance with their own legal obligations, including maintaining books & records and other compliance obligations.

  • Third party providers. We share your personal data to third party providers to perform commercial services on Our behalf. These third parties are permitted to use your personal data only if it is necessary to provide Us with these business services, such as customer supports, customer communications, application, third party applications to send marketing communications, and database hosting.

  • Public authorities. If required by law or for the legal protection of Our legitimate interests in compliance with applicable law We may disclose your personal data to public authorities.

International transfers
In the context of the purposes described above, your personal data may be transferred outside the United Kingdom (UK) to countries that are not considered to ensure an adequate level of protection of personal information. We will ensure that appropriate Standard Contractual Clauses are in place for those countries with privacy laws that do not have adequate protection. How long We keep your information

Your personal data will be in principle retained no longer than necessary for the purpose we collected it. This means that your personal data will be retained for 60 days to facilitate the booking of repair appointments. Where your personal data is collected for marketing purposes, We will retain your personal data for as long as necessary for such purpose.

We may retain your personal data longer if this is required to comply with a law or regulation to which We are subject or necessary for Us to protect or exercise Our rights, for as far as allowed under the applicable data protection law.

Information Security

We have implemented safeguards designed to protect your Personal Data in accordance with industry standards. We have measures in place to restrict access to Personal Data to those individuals whom We know have a valid business purpose to have access to such information. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is totally secure. Therefore, We cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Automated decision making and profiling

In general, We make no use of automated decision-making or profiling. Where necessary, We will inform you separately about such measures in individual cases.
